For the longest time ever I’ve badly wanted a drumset. I don’t know why – it’s not that I have any kind of talent in the percussion field, but now I can pretend I do. Playing drums for whatever reason has been an aspiration of mine for a long time, so I’m happy to say that after some deliberation, I now have drums to play.

Granted they’re geek-drums. We decided on the newly available Roland TD-3SV because it has all the sensors (but a different rack and processor) of the next level up for 2/3 of the cost. Yesterday it arrived and it’s a blast. Of course we could’ve saved some money by buying an acoustic “real” drum set but that’s not an option (right now) since we still live in an apartment. Someday (sigh).

In the meantime, it’s time to start a band. I’ll play the geek-drums, and PDF can play the keytar. We just need a vocalist to spaz out with some sort of digital tambourine and we’re set. Elektronix 2 the maxx.
