So I was able to see the majority of the Apple Keynote from MacWorld via webcast. I was really excited about this initially for all the effort it took me to make it work it really wasn’t worth it in the end. Many on SpyMac agreed that it was one of the worst keynotes ever. There just wasn’t anything good. Sure, GarageBand is cool and something I may potentially use, and the iPod mini (not worth linking to) is OK, but it is cheap air max trainers really expensive. The real disappointment was the complete lack of “wow”. There were no updates to any of the PC’s, laptop or desktop, and the much-anticipated monitor updates were also nowhere to be found. That said, I went ahead and ordered my Powerbook! The only add-ons I got were the Airport Extreme card and the 80 Gb hard disk in lieu of the standard 40. Naturally, I am pretty excited and counting down the days until it gets here. I sprung for the 2-day air because, when you’re paying $100 for sales tax, $15 just isn’t that much more. I am only a little miffed that I won’t be getting iLife ’04 with it, but I can get it later for $20 so that’s not bad. I am this close to being an Apple owner and that’s awesome. I also bought some RAM so she’ll run nice and smooth. If all goes as it should I will be typing this on an Apple by next Friday. More excitement: I figured it couldn’t hurt to pick up an N64 so we can play Mario Kart. I also managed to qualify myself (by spending more money) for the Zelda Bonus Disc that’s currently shipping with the GameCubes, so that will be fun too. I now officially have enough video games for the rest of my life, or at least until Gran Turismo 4 comes out.
