I guess Apple doesn’t sell refurbs/open box stuff in-store anymore. That’s disappointing.

store.apple.com has a Sale section near the bottom of Apple refurbished things, and our own stores sell open box items after they’ve done a bit of work to ensure nothing’s wrong, after a return.
restocking fees don’t just make Apple some cash. :)

btw, I wouldn’t personally trust a reseller to sell me an “open box” or “refurbished” item because resellers are not the manufacturer.

Yup, I’m aware of the online sale section, and I’m still trying to decide whether or not to go refurbished for a Cinema Display (what do you recommend?).

It seemed like the deals in-store were often better than what could be found online, but I can understand why they no longer do that.

refurbished from Apple has a new 1 year warranty.

I’m actually waiting for new Cinema Displays because it will be like almost Four Years this June.
    lame.
new displays would be a decision maker for a desktop.

I actually need to get one before they make any changes. I’m thinking I’ll probably just go new, since it’s not a huge price difference.

yeah, I want a display that’s thinner than an iMac is now.
