This will be the last time I mention Grand Theft Auto until the inevitable comparison to Driv3r in June. I decided to pick up the PSX GTA Collection since it was cheap and I thought it’d be good to have. I also finished both GTA 3 and Vice City. It is a nice feeling, owning Miami and all.
The weather was awesome today but that will all be over tomorrow. Big shock.
I picked up the Kill Bill DVD and the iTunes update today. The free weekly download idea is interesting, and the WMA conversion is clever.
And…Abe is an uncle as of this morning.
We also saw Kill Bill vol. 1 over the weekend. It is one of the best movies I’ve seen this year, if not ever. The visuals and audio were both spectacular to the point where I will actually probably buy the DVD.
Also, I thought that I could get by without mentioning Grand Theft Auto, but Chappelle mentioned it so I figured it’d be OK.
…I am continually amazed by the Grand Theft Auto series. I was playing some GTA3 over the weekend and loved the numerous references that it shares with Vice City. Even better, one of the missions in GTA3 is to eliminate the main character from the Driver series, because they’ve found that he’s actually a cop. OK – I’m done now, but I think it’s genius.
Also, I guess I’m doing this. Here.
So the sky has fallen and Apple has finally updated their notebooks. This news is received by me with equal amounts of bitterness, apathy, and satisfaction:
Bitterness: it’s about damn time. This is the update that should’ve happened 4 months ago at MWSF. You can not tell me that Apple did not have the capability to put a 1.33 G4 in a 12″ Powerbook at that time, and it would’ve made a lot of people happy in a presentation where not much else happened (see 01/06/04).
Apathy: well, doing it now really makes no difference to me. I bought mine when I needed it, and the whole purpose was to have a completely functional (wireless) setup when we moved. That was a month and a half ago. I could not have waited this long for an update. I am still waiting for displays.
Satisfaction: at least they finally updated something. The year until this point has been fairly unexciting in terms of Apple products. They’re also doing the logical thing by making an Airport Extreme card standard fare. And everyone knows that the updates are just biding time for the G5 Powerbooks. Also, they didn’t become better-looking and they didn’t increase the RAM, which would’ve killed me.
Also:
- I now own a car dealership and a porn studio in Vice City.
- Within the past two weeks I saw Brother Bear, The Matrix : Revolutions, and some other movie. I’m pretty sure they were all OK.
Yesterday we went to see Billy Joel’s Movin Out at the Fox Cities PAC. Surprisingly, it was not a musical, as we expected it to be. We figured it’d be similar to Mamma Mia, but it turned out to be more of a ballet type thing. It was very good. The lead singer was Darren Holden, and he did a spectacular job.
We also took the opportunity to eat at Victoria’s, an absolutely fantastic Italian restaurant. All in all, it was a very nice day, especially considering the weather.
Also:
- Futurama
- Grand Theft Auto
- getting promoted
- the Internet
- pizza.
In all seriousness, though, I am sitting and thinking and thinking and sitting. I came across this recently which has me mildly inspired. What I’d really like to do is create a similar one for the Central Wisconsin area. I have no idea where to start – if anyone has suggestions or would be interested in some sort of collaboration let me know.
Also, as you may have gathered from above, I got promoted. That’s nice for me. I also had pizza for dinner last night, which was also nice. I also watched Futurama and played Grand Theft Auto, so theoretically, yesterday was possibly the best day ever – or maybe Monday was, I don’t know.
I can’t believe there was a time when I typed these in all lowercase. That was dumb.
So, as I mentioned, we moved about a month ago. This is all fine and good, but presented a dilemma. On my other site, I still have my old address. I also still had the old version of this site. Logically, I would’ve just updated the two graphics. I think I thought that was a bad idea and did this instead. It’s new and improved.
